High tech fitness trackers were the healthiest accessories for 2015 but they are about to get even better.

If you are keen to kick some health goals in 2016 there is plenty of high tech gadgetry to track your exercise habits, daily movements, heart rate, sleep patterns or energy intake. Jawbone, Fitbit and the Apple Watch are the big names of self-monitoring devices linked to websites and smart phone apps.

But the market is crowded with gadgets such as the Tom Tom Cardio Multisport and Gymwatch capable of gathering all kinds of data to help you monitor your health. According to market research firm Canalys, the number of wearable tech devices sold will jump from eight million to 45 million in the next three years.
